Here is a quick post to answer a common question; how tall are street lights in the UK?
Street lights in the UK vary in height and typically range between 5 - 12m. You will see street lights with a height of 5-6m on a residential estate road and 8-12m on main traffic routes.
Although during recent PFI schemes 8m columns were installed on residential streets to increase the spacing between columns, in an effort to reduce the number of street lights required; however, this can cause issues with obtrusive light and should be avoided where possible.
